How to Autofill Credit Card Details on an iPhone

Many might remember when Google Chrome announced Autofill almost a decade ago. Since then, it’s almost hard to imagine a world where your details aren’t filled out automatically for you.

After all, it can save a lot of time for those who often make purchases online. It’s also handy when you don’t want to get your wallet when purchasing something quickly.

So, if you want to set up your iPhone to fill in credit card details automatically, this tutorial is for you. There are several ways to do this, so choose what’s best for you.

Set Up Safari AutoFill on Your iPhone

Apple makes it pretty easy to set up AutoFill for credit cards in Safari. To do this, simply head to Settings > Safari > AutoFill.

Here, you can add a credit card or multiple credit cards, depending on your preference. Just make sure Credit Cards is on and tap Saved Credit Cards to add your preferred payment.

This method works best if you don’t have Apple Pay or don’t want to set it up but still want AutoFill settings in Safari. If you have a Mac, you can also set up AutoFill in Safari on Mac.

Add the Credit Card to Your Apple ID

If you don’t use Safari and prefer to use another browser on your phone, or you also use PayPal, consider updating your payment settings in iCloud. This method is also great if you have multiple devices.

To do this, head to Settings > [Your Apple ID Name] > Payment & Shipping.

If you want to make things easier, be sure to add your shipping address as well. This will make it so you won’t even need to add your address during checkout. This feature is in the same section. Just tap Add Shipping Address and fill out your information.

Set Up Apple Pay on Your iPhone

If you haven’t set up Apple Pay yet, you should consider doing so. Not only will it AutoFill your credit and debit card information on browsers, but it will also do so in many apps.

Apple Pay also works at many retailers nationwide, and you can use it at many vending machines. Apple Pay is one of the most convenient ways to pay, and as more stores can accept it, you might not even need to carry a wallet.

To set up Apple Pay on your iPhone, head to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Add Card. Once you do this, just fill out your card information to set it up.
